Hi my name is Jessica Wild, or Jessica Jumpers on the internet.
I am an illustrator and professional crazy cat lady from Manchester, UK.
I illustrate to connect with people. It all started at school, when kids would ask me to draw their favourite cartoons for them. My favourite was Garfield - he was my muse. And I don’t think I ever really got over that.
Now, I draw for the internet - connecting with cool kidz all over the world - it’s not Jim Davis levels of exposure, but it’s pretty amazing!
I create illustrations and comics that are funny with a pinch of tragic realism, but always, a bit daft!
I work all over the illo-spectrum from digital to lino. I love working digitally for its clean efficiency and endless possibilities, but analogue brings a certain character and chance to a work that maybe I wouldn’t achieve on my iPad.
When I am not drawing cats, you’ll find me at a gallery, a gig or in my outhouse learning the drums! One day I’ll be in a band, and even if we’re shit, at least our merch will be incredible!
My brain works brilliantly when it’s in collaboration with someone else. I have produced designs for bands, created info graphics about mental health and dabbled with design.
My skillset goes beyond fluffy cute things when it wants to.
